What does God say about our bodies?
How are you treating your body? How important is it to you to stay trim and fit? Are you careful what foods you eat? Are you on an exercise regimen? Is your weight under control? O.K.—how about the following: --Do you have good eating habits? Are you obese? --Do you smoke using tobacco products? --Do you drink alcohol products in excess? Are you an alcoholic? --Do you maintain sexual purity? --Do you control stress in your life? Enough sleep and rest? --Do you take drugs which harm your body—marijuana, cocaine? What does God say straight from the Bible? We are all, each one of us, created in the image of God. Genesis 1:27 Your body belongs to God and serves as a temple of the Holy Spirit. I Corinthians 6:19-20 We honor God by taking care of our bodies. I Corinthians 10:31 Our bodies are part of our service and worship to God. Romans 12:1 Sexual immoralities defile our body—flee from. I Corinthians 6:18 Bottom line: Take care of your body—it does not belong to you—it is the property of God. And so very important—if you know God personally—He will resurrect your body after your earthly death and you will be with Him for eternity.
